Music is a vital part of the Lower School experience and is offered to all classes, PK–4. Singing, creative movement, musical instruments, drama, poetry, and “play party” dances are woven into each grade’s music curriculum. Students create music with classmates in large and small groups and develop listening skills, whether by describing a piece or making their part blend with another.

Performance opportunities abound. Every year, each Lower School class presents a class play, often written by the students, that includes music and movement. All students perform in the holiday program, the Spanish assembly, and Grandparents and Friends Day. The 4th grade chorus performs in several other assemblies throughout the year.
